What a company D&D actually costs — worked out, nett
Most venue pages stop at "from". This one does the arithmetic: the venue package, the catering, the optional extras, and the total your Finance team will actually see — for 150 guests and for 250 guests, at Major 99 in Ang Mo Kio.
Prices current as at 17 September 2026. Every figure below is nett — no GST and no service charge are added on top.
The two numbers a D&D budget is made of
At Major 99 the budget has exactly two compulsory lines: the venue package, which is a flat nett figure for your hall booking, and catering, which is per head and quoted separately. Everything else is optional and is listed on your proposal as its own line. Nothing is added afterwards.
The venue package tier is set by your end time, not your start time — so always tell a venue both.
| Package | Ends by | Capacity | Included | Nett price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Daytime Event | 6pm | Up to 200 pax | 10 beer towers · free-flow soft drinks | S$2,800 |
| Extended Daytime Event | 8pm | Up to 350 pax | 20 beer towers · free-flow soft drinks | S$4,800 |
| Evening Company Event | Runs past 8pm | Up to 300 pax | 30 beer towers · free-flow soft drinks | S$6,500 |
| Full-Premises Booking | Customised, usually evening | Guideline from 150 pax | All nine private rooms · no public admitted · typically 70 beer towers | From S$13,000 |
Every tier includes the main hall, the stage, full AV and the LED screen, both pool tables and the party-games table, plus one hour of setup access before your event starts. Buffet is never inside a package price — it is always quoted separately.
Worked example: 150 guests, evening D&D
A Friday company D&D, 6pm–10pm with access from 5pm, dinner in the hall, awards on stage, karaoke and games after. Running past 8pm makes it an Evening Company Event.
| Line | Basis | Nett |
|---|---|---|
| Evening Company Event package | Flat — hall, stage, AV, LED screen, pool tables, party games, 30 beer towers, free-flow soft drinks, 1 hour setup access | S$6,500 |
| Buffet — Value tier | 6 dishes · 150 × S$20 | S$3,000 |
| Total | Nothing added — no GST, no service charge | S$9,500 · about S$63 a head |
Same night, better menu. Move to the Classic buffet at S$25/pax (7 dishes) and the total is S$10,250 nett, about S$68 a head. Move to Premium at S$30/pax (9 dishes) and it is S$11,000 nett, about S$73 a head. The venue line does not move.
Want a lower total without cutting the menu? Finish earlier. The same 150 guests on a Daytime Event ending by 6pm is S$2,800 nett for the venue plus S$3,000 catering — S$5,800 nett, about S$39 a head. Family days and long-service awards often work better in daylight anyway.
Worked example: 250 guests, evening D&D
Two hundred and fifty is our seated dinner capacity in the main hall, stage in place. The venue line is the same flat figure as it was at 150 — which is why the per-head number falls away sharply as the room fills.
| Line | Basis | Nett |
|---|---|---|
| Evening Company Event package | Flat — same inclusions as above | S$6,500 |
| Buffet — Value tier | 6 dishes · 250 × S$20 | S$5,000 |
| Total | Nothing added — no GST, no service charge | S$11,500 · S$46 a head |
The same 250 guests, two other ways. Classic buffet at S$25/pax: S$12,750 nett, S$51 a head. Premium at S$30/pax: S$14,000 nett, S$56 a head. Or finish by 8pm on an Extended Daytime Event: S$4,800 + S$5,000 = S$9,800 nett, about S$39 a head.
If you need the whole venue to yourselves, Full-Premises Booking starts at S$13,000 nett and is available as a guideline from 150 pax. At 250 guests with the Value buffet that is from S$18,000 nett, from S$72 a head — and it buys you all nine private rooms, the third pool table inside the Gold room, and no members of the public in the building for the duration.
Optional lines, and what they do to the total
These are choices, not surprises. Each one appears as its own line on your proposal.
- An open bar instead of the included towers. On our free-flow packages the venue charge is waived and the evening is priced per guest instead. There are three tiers: free-flow beer, from S$55 per pax nett; then a tier adding house pours; then a tier adding wine. Minimum 140 guests, alcohol served for a three-hour window inside your event, house brands, last orders roughly 30 minutes before the end. Free-flow soft drinks are not time-limited — they run the whole event. Free-flow rates move with the season, so the rate that applies to your date is confirmed in your written quote. Strictly 18+ for anything served from the bar.
- Keeping the towers instead. Unfinished beer towers do not expire on the night — whatever your group does not drink stays as a balance you can come back and use on a later visit. For a crowd that will not get through thirty towers, the capped package is usually the better buy.
- Wine instead of beer. House wine converts one-for-one against your included towers at no extra cost. Tell us at quoting stage so we can confirm supply for your date.
- Corkage. On an Evening Company Event we waive corkage on up to 6 bottles of wine.
- A live carving station on the buffet — a separate add-on on any buffet tier, including Premium. Ask us for the current rate.
- Emcee or event host, photo booth, live band or acoustic set, arcade game credits. All available, all quoted as their own line in your proposal rather than published here — ask us and we will price them for your headcount and programme.
What is deliberately not in the total
Catering is never folded into a package price — it is always "+ catering from S$20/pax", so you can see exactly what the food costs. Arcade machines, darts and the claw machine are pay-per-play, charged to whoever plays; the two pool tables and the party-games table are free to use all night. Drinks beyond your package's included towers are à la carte at nett prices.
Deposit: 20% on the venue package secures your date exclusively, plus 50% on any third-party item (catering, emcee or performers, outside vendors). It is stated on every quote and invoice.
Why a plus-plus quote reads lower than it lands
Because it is usually quoted on a different basis. Three things commonly sit outside a hotel-ballroom per-pax figure, and all three are documented in the getout.sg dinner and dance cost guide for Singapore (read 17 September 2026):
- Service charge and GST. A 10% service charge plus 9% GST adds "approximately 20% to the quoted price". That is what "plus-plus" means.
- Corkage. Commonly S$30–50 per bottle — roughly S$600–1,000 on a 200-pax event if you bring your own wine.
- Overtime. Run past your contracted end time and it is commonly S$500–2,000 per additional hour.
The same guide notes shuttle buses at S$300–800 per bus for venues that are awkward to reach, and mid-range D&D catering at S$45–95 per pax.
Do the plus-plus arithmetic before you compare. A hypothetical S$70/pax plus-plus quote for 150 guests reads as S$10,500. Add 10% service charge and it is S$11,550. Add 9% GST on top of that and it is S$12,589.50 — about S$84 a head, before corkage and before any overtime. That is the number to put in the spreadsheet column next to ours.
None of this makes a ballroom the wrong answer for every company — it makes the comparison unfair unless you convert both quotes to the same basis first. Ask every venue the same question: is this figure nett, or before service charge and GST? Our 12-question venue checklist is built around that one habit.
What we need from you to quote it properly
- Your date, and your start and end time — the end time sets the package tier.
- Estimated headcount, and whether you need the whole venue exclusively.
- Whether you want dining, and any halal or vegetarian requirements. Halal-certified catering is available through our external catering partners; the caterer, current certification, menu and quotation are confirmed for each event before booking.
Send those three things and you get a full written proposal, with every inclusion listed, within one business day. November and December book out first, so Q4 dates are worth asking about early.
Compare before you book — all our venue comparison guides in one place.
Your numbers, worked the same way.
Tell us pax, date and end time. We will send the line-by-line nett version for your event — one business day, no plus-plus.
